Quite good stuff there; your head sketches have personality. I especially like the old guy shaking his fist. My perverbial hat is off to you.

very nice senor,
i might suggest modeling your faces though. having great linequality and lineweights is great and all, but it can't do everything to describe your forms. even some subtle shading under the eye brows to indicate the sockets would be tight..

thanks guys... I'll try to post more of my doodles when I can.. perhaps I'll update another sketch post this weekend
(looks like I may put a hold on cleaning up that scfi gal pic).
Siskol P.. thanks for the suggestion.. the plan has always been to clean these up in the future.. but these are just drawings I do on the subway coming home and to work.

November 12th, 2003, 08:37 PM
well I'll do my best to post more often then.
Molly--- hahha yeah I was in a quirky mood
Clocktowerartworks.. ale garza? thanks! yeah his work is cool.
I usually do this kind of drawing when I'm feeling loose and goofy. I seem to bounce between two different styles from time to time.. one goofy/cute and one a little more gritty. I guess it depends on the mood.
I posted up two more images.. ones another wip design of a little odd ball mech.

Heres a little speed paint Of the scifi girl..
One day I'd like to really fix this sketch up .. more details more nick nacks.. and tighter colouring.. and work on the colours more..
I plan to put more sketches up by this weekend.
Mainloop thanks.. hahha it was just some girl that I saw on the subway.. that got me thinking.. she wasn't pregnant.. but I thought it would be a good theme.
Pregant Catholic school girl out for revenge.. was thinking of some sort of weird pulp comic idea or something

features. Keep going!

November 20th, 2003, 10:23 AM
yo, have you been inspired by the comic book Out There? coz both the comic and your style kick ass
Kidchuckle
November 20th, 2003, 07:16 PM
der_sAlzige ---> thanks... I will certainly try. I like to draw on the subway on the way to work.. You get to see a variety of faces.. and they're mostly sleeping so they won't give you weird looks.. but sometimes the jig is up (and they put up their newspapers.
spok---> yeah deffinite fan of Ramos (crimson/out there), that and Frazzato, Wieringo...
On my own I prefer to draw more goofier type look.. But I also bounce around with a little more older comic book style as well... but I just prefer the goofier cause you can exagerate things a little more like faces.
Another subway drawing

hey shyst--> thanks for the kind words. Arthur adams rocks!! althoug you were right to say about Michael Golden. What stuff has he done? I've tried looking up his works but I can't to see any pieces of his.. the closest thing I've come across is that he is one of Jim lee's favorite artist (Jim Lee is probably one of my favorite artist growing up and still is.. so if hes a fan of his.. then i'm eagerly waiting to find his works.
Shyst if you can come across any of his works on the web.. please let me know! :D
Oh and another note.. I'll probably posting something new tommorow.. just been too lazy to scan in anything.

Try looking for Continuity Comics Armor, he worked on this title during the 90's, I think it was during the Rise of Magic crossovers.

OH ARMOUR! I do know his work.. actually I think I have a few issues in my room. Its too bad that company isn't producing anymore work... and it sure is heck hard to find back issues. (well at least in Toronto)
Samuree was a hotty. But I do remember Neal Adams first starting off the series. But thanks guys.. Man Contuinity comics really brings back memories (standing in Sears, at the comic book rack... )
thanks for the info.. I'll have to dig up more of his recent work.

i didnt get a chance to see his cross over at continuity.. although i did see his bucky o' hare stuff...
he did alot of the nam' comic books ,, the origional micronaughts series and various stuff for dc marvel...
his portfolio series for marvel 80's was amazing also...

Just finished this off last nite... I just noticed it needs shadows below the feet... it looks so floaty.
I might try to paint this later on.

Chaos Jt I will try more.. its rough design...
I was trying to construct it if were going to be made into a toy.. thats why its a little more constrained compared to the more stylized rough.
Storyline --> might try colouring it... still want to keep working on the design.. but anyways.. if this were a toy.. you could pull the arms and legs off.. with replacement parts..
Magnetic joints ---> kind of like Micronauts. (google search Baron Kaza)
