Has anybody here heard of the possibility of an inverted spectrum.
The basic concept is that, we don't all sense colors the same.
"The qualitive character of your sensation of red might indeed, be different to the qualitative character of my sensation of red, but so long as these states are standardly caused by red objects they are both the sensation of red. The specific qualia are not essential to the type identity of these mental states"
When you see violet, you might be sensing the same thing as I do when I see yellow. I would sense your primaries as my secondaries and vice versa. There's no way to either prove this or refute this. It's just a theory and I always get a kick out of it :)
I don't know any extensive studies of inverted spectrums in english, so if anybody's got a link to some studies in english, please post'em :)
