Looking good so far. The eye and the brassworks are favourite parts.I would maybe want some more shadow on his left side, under chest, on shoulder, under chin - to enhance the scales? Also maybe a little darker background? At least on his left side?
I cant really say, but something about the cropping bugs me - either I want a bit more of the charavter, or a bit less. In either cas, a bit more air above the horns would be good I think. :D
Keep it up - lemme see more!
