Hi, I'm new here. Been browsing for a while and decided to finally post something. I'm in my first figure drawing class right now at my local community college, and here's a few things from class. All three are on 24x36 newsprint.

The first two we weren't allowed to add value yet, while on the third we could. Being new to figure drawing, I'm still a little slow. But that will hopefully change with practice.

Looks like you're off to a good start! Make sure you do plenty of blind contours, and remember its ok to draw inside the contours of the figure.

One approach i knwo works, if you need a formula, is to set down your gesture, proportions, then structure, and double check them, then go in with the detail and value.

When you find your work is getting too formulaic, do blind contours, or really make sure you study the uniqueness of the pose, just study and dont even draw it if you need to. Its important to stay loose and fresh!
