Ok, so I was talking with my friend recently who is very pumped about something called Siggraph. Apparently it's some kind of conference or convention or something, that apparently is huge and that I have never heard of before. He said that major companies go there scouting talent and there are competitions and classes of many kinds, and just generally good things. Now based on what he said, it sounds like it would benefit me to go, but I really have no idea what its really like. I mean, I went to the website, but some actual experiences would be nice.

anyone been? I am intrigued.

How come Massive Black (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Search?search=massive+black&go=Go) and ConceptArt.org fail simple wikipedia tests while this (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Siggraph) does not?

I was kind of hoping for more of a description about what it was exactly. I mean that other thread had great pictures, but it doesn't really say alot about the event itself or what goes on there, I guess beyond the fact that there is a photographer people really like. Could someone that's been there describe it for me please?

One is a sixty year old society (ACM) and its special interest group for computer graphics (SIGGRAPH) and the other is a very young art community (Conceptart.org) and an even younger art outsourcing studio for video games and film (Massiveblack). I hope that helps you put things in perspective.

But if you think they need (better) articles, start writing. ;)
