Greetings, I'm Blue Bengal.
I've been a lurker around here for while and finally decided to start becoming more active in hope of self improvement and inspiration.

I'm a traditional artist and enjoy working in graphite, charcoal, oils, and have some some sculpture.
Since Photoshop 7 I've been familiar with digital painting and have done a few works using that software. I'm quite familiar with painter as well.
I'd like to get better at my painting skills and would love to learn how to speed paint and improve.

I enjoy drawing creatures and wild life as well as characters from time to time.
I primarily draw realism and sketches, and occasionally I'll dab into slightly anime-esque inspired styles and some sculpture which I would love to do more of.

Here are a few examples of my work.

Thank you.
I didn't see an introductions thread, I might have overlooked and missed it so I posted this here. I wouldn't mind an Admin or Mod moving it to the correct place.

The intro thread is in the "Lounge" at the top. This is the right place for art questions...but if you're asking about specific pieces then the "Studies & Work in Progress" or "Critique Center" forums are best. You should also check the "Tutorial" and "Photoshop" & "Painter" forums for stickies that would help you with your painting development.

On these pieces, I'm going to say you need to use some hard edged brushes in there to avoid that fuzzy, unfocused look. Push your contrast to make form pop, and pay attention to the volume in shapes.

Thanks for the suggestion!
I did the digital paintings in PS with the basic brush tool at the time.
I've not had much experience with brush use. But I think I'll definitely find the help I need here for that!

There are threads on different types of brushes and custom making your own...but there's a reason the round brush is at the top of the list. You can go pretty far with just it alone.
