I like this a lot... I remember your work from the latest Illustration annual where you won a first prize for a bipolar cover. Awesome work, I had a blast flipping through your portfolio.

I like it! neat to see panels on a cover, but it's hard to tell what the relationship between them is (but that's ok, makes me want to read the book). I wish the monster's head was peaking around the door frame, that would break up the steady, stable, inverted 'T' composition of the panels and be more dynamic. If you were directed to keep him in the kid's bedroom, can we see more of his face? cutting him off half-faced feels a little awkward.
Great moods, figures and colors. I like the wallpaper, reminds me of Cerebus.
one nit-picky crit: the rope on the girl's hammer seems to serve no functional purpose. If it is there to hold the hammer head on, it needs to be tighter to the handle.

WOW!
I just checked out your site and I was amazed. Very unique style, and very nice sense of design.
I really enjoyed your site. BTW, where could I pick up a copy of your comic? Looks interesting!

Jon Foster! your replay made my evening. your work is has always been inspiring.. thanks for writing these kind kind words.
I agree with all the critic mentioned above. although, I think cutting a face off in a frame is a strong compositional tool that I try to use sometimes. you can say so much about a character by what you don't show. if it came out looking awkward then I failed...but there was a though behind it.
lastly, I indeed work on Aesop's cover-- it was dope, he is a really cool guy and a great artist. for whoever is interested I am posting it here:

cool style - your work first caught my eye in the NY'er - great to see you posting here; I actually used one of your pics this year to design a Roald Dahl book cover (via Ispot) - if our budget didn't suck I'd try and put you on all of 'em

tomer - yeah it's out already; I'll scan it Monday and post it here for you if that's alright. (and it was my pleasure, the piece was strong enough that my job was easy, just picked up a couple colors and slapped on the title . . . )
in the meantime I'll order a few copies to send your way

here's a screengrab of the cover, like I said my work was minimal - the image really carries the whole design (lo-res and all, so forgive jaggies and color shifting):
