I'll let the work speak for itself on behalf of concept artist, illustrator, and classical painter John Watkiss.

Please don't mistake me, but "on behalf of" and your location (unless you've moved from California?) suggest you're not John Watkiss? Or have I got it all mixed up?
Can you clarify?

Certainly!

You are correct in your assumption that I am not John Watkiss.

John doesn't really do online, so in an effort to familiarize more people with his work, I'm working (with John's complete approval and blessing, of course) to bolster his online presence as well as moving John into a gallery-oriented space.

And indeed, John has moved from California and is now in Brighton.

Great to have his presence bolstered!

I met John through a friend in the 90's while studying in London and had the pleasure of hanging out with him a few times. Aside from his stellar talent, he is an engaging personality and speaker and a true art enthusiast.

Please include whatever lectures or writings John may have. I think it, along with his art, would prove to be a valuable resource to other artists and fans alike.

Thanks,
Todd

On further reflection, I'm moving this to Art Discussion. John's work is fantastic, and certainly deserves as wide an audience as possible, but I don't think Finally Finished is the place for third parties, even with "approval and blessing," to be posting other's art ("studio" threads being a partial exception). So, "Watkiss," please keep posting (although you might want to change that name and user title), and if John himself could be convinced to "do online" he's more than welcome.

I think Brother Vendi probably won't be showing up here (though one can never tell for sure).

But I've plenty of art to put out there, and John is sending me a package all-new work very soon indeed.

In the meantime, here's a couple more from the same series.

I must admit I wasn't familiar with Watkiss' work before, so I'm very thankful you're promoting it online, it certainly deserves it! Absolutely love his style, the atmosphere he builds in his pieces is almost tangible. By all means keep posting!
