Hi guys, glad I stumbled across this site :)

Sorry , i am sure this have been asked a multitude of times in various guises.

basically like a lot of people I would love to work in a concept artist role in the entertainment industry, be it games or movies etc.
I have been offered a spot on a graphic design degree course but I am not so sure this is the right route. Do any of you have any suggestions or preferences you could suggest? Im seeing illustration and fine art mentioned alot, is graphic design viable?

cheers, T:sungod:

Graphic design doesn completely aplly to concept art. You would be better off taking illustration somewhere. Graphic design has its own set of rules whereas concept art is all over the place so can explore more and so forth. Illustration or fine arts is geared more towards technical skills you need for concept art.

Uh, Demonique is right? Some Graphic Design courses don't even allow you to draw (beyond foundation courses)--they want you to sample from other works. Illustration, Game Design, Sequential Art, Painting...all much better.
