Why does every jpg I save in PS of extremely bad quality? I know quality drops when I turn a .tiff file into a .jpg but this much? It turns out the same no matter wheater I go to the save for web option or only save as, and I save every .jpg as high quality.
I noticed this when I was putting up a picture in my gallery, it just looks extremely blurry, and I have the same problem with my avatar. Anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

Are you using the 'Save for Web' option in the 'File' drop down menu? You can set the quality of the jpg with a slider bar here. It'll preview the image quality as you slide it and there is a marked difference as you do so. :)
Edit: Oops! Just saw you are using it. Ignore me... I'll have a look at your images.
Edit: The quality looks about the same as other peoples. Small jpgs do lose a lot...

Thanks, but I think something else is the problem. When I upload a picture and view it in a web browser it looks bad, when I open it from the hard drive it looks the way it should.
And it's driving me crazy :(

Do you save your jpg's with 72 dpi? Other resolutions may cause problems.

Yeah I did. I think it automatically saves with 72dpi when you save as .jpg

Don't think so. Maybe "saving for web" does but not "save as". Just opend your avatar in PS and it said 300dpi ??? I would suggest to check your images in PS and have a look at "image size" or similar (dont know what the exact english term is).
Edit:
Ha, you changed avatars. I meant the old one.

Hey thanks for the avatar! I checked this picture I uploaded and it was saved as 72dpi so I don't really know what's the problem, maybe it just has to do with the size of the picture as Poshspice said. I changed the avatar though and it looks better.
Thanks a bunch!
