Of course not. It's all up to you and your abilities as an artist/designer. Why should age matter?

Dude.. I am 34 and I just got a Bachelors in Fine Art.. Now I am going to probably get a second Bachelors in Computer Animation. Age doesn't mean crap. I used to thik the same way but you just have to get over it. There is nothing wrong with being a late bloomer.. atleast you bloomed right?
