Ooooh, I like. Would definately like to see this one finished. I really like the choice of color for the skin tone, very storm-like. If I could just point out one thing, his right hand seems a bit awkward. To keep his hand positioned the way it is you need to swing his arm out a bit more, otherwise his hand needs to turn away a little.

i definatly like the underlying lineart and what you've got going so far with the painting aspect,

the chest plate looks a little herkity jerkity, you might want to make it protrude out more in the center rather than having that curved line that to me emulates the curve of the spine of his back, which makes the armor sink in rather than protude out..

and cool spell thing in his hand..
