Well, Im new here and think that this is a good start to getting a whole hell of a lot better. I've been posting some of my stuff over at deviantart but i cant really get any helpful critiques and im just praying that here lies the answer the my prayers ;x

interesting paintings. the witch climbing out og the cauldron has a more visible story, but the image is a little soft. If you crisp up some of the edges and detials it'll get stronger.

The eternal humor piece I don't really understand, but I like the rendering and colors better than vision. But the noose is a little hard to read and the doll/child appears to be floating (not hanging with full weight).

ah yes i see what you are saying about the child. thx for bringing that to my attention, and i also see how i can get the mood a bit better on the first by doing that. THX :D

I agree with vision about both things, The witch is very well done and blending sort of works against the whole thing, but in a way it also works in a fear showing way. The eternal humour is nicely excecuted apart from the whole weight prob.

the gerome painting...nice start....but its not as finished as geromes was....if you are gonna hit a master copy...hit it all the way.

thats my thoughts...but doing color sketches of master copies is great too.

i forget the title...i think its something like Fate climbing out of the well.....the series is cool....i think the last one is fate dead at the bottom of the well.

it has been a while since i ogled those paintings of his.

the second image lacks color complexity....flesh is very warm all over with no seperation of temperature between light and shadow. just an observation.
