I just went through my portfolio and cut out a lot of crap that should have been ditched a long time ago. If anyone still thinks I should ditch something that is left, please suggest it!

on the second page, the girl on the top left kind of looks like she's vomiting with all that dark black. some of the figures look like they are floating, maybe just a line to imply the ground. some really nice drawings, the animal drawings are excellent as well

no more short term life drawings for a bit. you need to work on your long term life drawings...three hours minimum...though six to nine would better. you need to concentrate on heads for a while. all different shapes and sizes. all different races.
ive watched your work for a while my friend....i seeeee you.
hehe

hey benzo,
i think theyre all great for your portfolio
only one of them slightly bother me
-the girl with the tattoo above her ass - something about her asscheeks bother me, maybe the right asscheek should not be coming up that high? actually i think im not reading her entire left leg very well
i dont think this is reason to take it out of your port though - the pose is still strong
excellent studies and i agree with putting either shadows or floor lines to really ground some of these - do it in a subtle way though, like you did with the wall the guy is leaning his head against

wow- all of a sudden there's lots of comments! thanks for them!
pibb991- i agree about the black background.... might try to add or subtrack some vomit
JtheJ and Manley- You're right, I do need to work on heads more. Hehe, I get what u mean. I'm going to be very conscious of that now!
These gestures are old, and I'm continuing to do portraits. See below. The ports are only 5 to ten minutes, so they are too fast also. Longer studies are what I need......
Anto- thanks. The tatoo girl's pose was like that, but maybe it does look weird. It was a long time ago, I think I was trying to show where the forms overlapped by changing some of the tangents in the pose.....ya, her grounded leg could be higher...As for the ground lines, its a good suggestion, but I'm hesitant to do it.
I'll check out that mag Josh. Here's some ports I did on Halloween night before I became a crazy, drunken hick with mullet in overalls and camo:

Thats awesome.
btw I forgot to meantion how much I like some of these drawings! ...About what Manley said I was referring to the longer term drawings to really nail down to structure and portortion. Great work. As soon as I buy my new site I'll post my newest figures.

ben, there a page of figure drawings in the TA room that you did that are fucking amazing, i thinkg those should be in here for SHO!!!
There is one figure on there that is the best drawn figure i have seen from anyone. And you did it, so you NEED to use that one. next time you on campus get it. It's on the top of wall near the air conditionor.
