View Full Version : "Boot Camp" for Art? Intensive Non-College Programs Which Accept Newbies

Hello!
Just trying to get an idea of what's "out there." There's the one school whose name can't be typed here for some reason (Gno........mon) and the Entertainment Art Academy (whose instructors I dig but it doesn't seem like the website has been update for a while?)
But is there anything else out there that's useful for the wannabe who wants to devote a few months of life to non-stop improvement - yet who isn't yet capable of a portfolio that would get them accepted to a top-tier art school?
Thanks very much, bye for now.

Hello!
As you can see, "Gno....mon," was deleted from your post. Weird, isn't it? You just can't type the word here: it disappears!
I have tons of DVD's. What I've got trouble with is my living situation; if I could escape it for a bit, I think I could improve better. So I'd like to escape to some serious art training. :)
My budget is about $5k, give or take a few k.

well if you're still in high school, my college offers summer programs (Savannah College of Art and Design). i think the programs are called Rising Star.
and i think RISD offers similar summer programs. :)

I've been out of highschool a few years now, and I'm not near-enough to any colleges anyway. But thanks for the suggestion.

Giving this a first-and-last bump before giving up on the topic.

Judging from the places you mentioned, I assume you're looking in Southern California. There are a bunch of other possibilities mentioned in this thread (http://www.conceptart.org/forums/showthread.php?p=1841874).

Oh, hi dad. Fancy running into you here. How's your spine?
Thanks for the link to the thread - a few spots there that I hadn't heard of before. I still need some clarification on the status of EAA, and I do wish I could find some kind of comparison of the various institutes mentioned. Have you any opinions on the lot?
Thanks, bye.
