i updated my robot sketch a bit, does it give off that 50's sci fi feel ???

I'd have to say yes... it does, but I don't know it's something that you'd be able to fix without entirely changing the design.
It's the compact body, simple sphere shapes, coil arms and claw hands. It really cries out "Lost in Space." Not that that's inherently a bad thing, but you seem to be going for something else. The guns too... when I see them, I think ray gun. I'd say they detract. Might be more effective if the guns were in closer to the body where they look like it would be easier to control them.
If you want something that looks more modern, why not try something more streamlined, using jointed solid shapes rather than springs for limbs. Maybe try drawing a few thumbnails first to see if you can get some silhouettes you like before going into the details.
From reading your text again, I can't tell whether you *want* that 50's feeling or not. If you do, it seems to be working.

first off tully awsome reply thnx. Sorry about the confusion, yes i do want that 50's thing. Basically what im going is a heavy 50's influence that could possibly be created to work. Ala Fallout.
