Hi All,

I just got the green light to bring on a concept artist for the development of some concept artwork for a independent 3D-animated TV series presentation pitch to be set sometime late September.

The desired artistic style is best described as something along the lines of what you would see from studios like GONZO digimation, Production I.G., Bones or Dr. Movie. However, if you would like to suggest a different style, I’m definitely open to suggestions.

The show is will aimed at a ‘teen’ to adult audience and will be in the vain of something you would see on Adult Swim’s imported Japanese anime programming.

What we’re looking for is a concept artist to do the following:
5 finished character concepts (colored)
1 finished ‘Mecha’ concept
1 finished concept of the exterior of the starship
1 finished concept of the interior of the starship where the ‘Mechs’ will be parked.
1 finished ‘Mecha’ cockpit concept.

That's all I can reveal for now without having anyone sign a non-disclosure agreement (NDA)

This is definitely will be a decently paid job, however I would like to be perfectly upfront and honest. Since this is a ‘pitch’ it's not like I’ll be able to pay anything near the ‘thousands of dollars’ mark you might be thinking about at this moment, as this isn’t something being developed by Sony Animation or any of those other big name companies.

Though we cannot pay much, what I can say is that the artist whom we end up going with will not only get paid a fair amount for their work, and if possible, we would love to retain that individual for future concept work if this project does go into production.

That said here’s what we’re looking for in an artist:

First and foremost, the artist should fully understand the genre they will be working with.
The artist should have access to a fast internet connection
Be familiar with FTP programs
This project is open to all artists residing in the U.S. however, we’d strongly prefer if they live in or around Southern California (LA preferred) and can occasionally meet up – Locals will definitely be highly favored.
The artist can work digitally
The artist can take direction and work within a given time table as we’re on a schedule.

Other notes:

Please be advised that you will have to sign an NDA and contract prior to working on this project.
Payment will only be discussed with the artist that we choose to go with.

If you’re interested, you can e-mail me links to your portfolio or send samples of your artwork to me at dreamonwords@gmail.com. However, please limit the file attachments to your best 3 pieces.

We're looking to bring someone on in the next two weeks.

Thanks,
