Man I love this, it looks great. Very nice job on it. The hair looks so purty, like a rose! :)
Something that freaks me out though is the forehead...Maybe its a little to big or is it just me?
Very nice job on it.

i think its gorgeous.. the forehead's fine to me.. only thing that irks me is the color of the white of the eyes.. it should have a bit more blue to it..

Yah, this is great, with the old-school vibes of the portrait with some new-school designs of the background.
Nice.

yo - lovely! ;) The proportions and such are real convincing. I like the design behind her too... but does she look... a little waxy?
(And yea, don't be afraid to throw cools on her, even greens.)

played with contrast, which is better?
DragonGX

I like the second one. I prefer images with higher contrast, they make for better/more interesting artwork.

i love the more yellow ambience the second one has.. gives it a glow... and the iris doesnt look as wierd anymore... how long does it take you to do these?

Hey Ben,
Got a question, do you do a pencil sketch before you start colouring? Also, is there any way we could see some of your process? I really enjoy the way you apply the colour(not to mention your colour palette), is there any way we could talk you into sharing your process?
Thanks!

JerMohler: unfortunately I havent saved many steps on this. But if you like, I could archive the steps for my next drawing, and make a page or thread of it.. It wouldnt be to much trouble.
And to answer your question, I been doing my sketches with the wacom lately, but yes, i start with line drawing, and some hatching.

If it won't bother you too much to archive the steps for your next drawing, I'd love to see your process.
Thanks!

She just hadn't had for vodka + red bull or the morning. Shes fine now, though.
Landmate - I'd like to see what it would look like with cooler colors in the shadows..

You did a paintover for me to help me get a more feminine look with my women. After seeing this I'm doubley honored you did so as you DEFINITELY know how to do it the right way. This is fantastic!

main loop: 3 or 4 hours, alot of the time is taken up by problem solving and trying to get a likeness and the rest on rendering.
mrsmith: thanks man :)
bstone: just draw what I see :x I'm really glad you like it, a sucessful portait is tough!

I am not all that surprised to see how good this is. I really like the skin on her, its got a very creamy look to it...very lovely.
Excellent work indeed.

Wow! Very nice indeed. :)
Your style seems to come through well even on more realist painted work (as apposed to lineart), which is very cool. You're a Jack-of-all-trades.
