Hi, there!

Welcome to my Sketchbook. I'm 19 years old girl (It is my 19st birthday today) who is still busy with school. I Always enjoy looking around here so I decided it would be a good idea posting my own studies here too. I hope I can get some tips to improve my skills and find more time to draw, when other people critisize me.

Er, my english is not very proper. I hope you understand that

Here some guys. I did them with a nib, and the last ones with a mechanical pencil and graphit, while I was watching TV. I like it to draw while listening radio or watching TV.

Some of your drawings are hard to see. However, you do have potential.

More importantly, happy birthday and welcome to CA! :)

It's clear to see what you're trying to achieve with these... the rendering style reminds me lots of the old masters' hatching techniques, and the anatomy is getting there. Check out Michael Mentler's threads here (http://www.conceptart.org/forums/showthread.php?t=25653), here (http://www.conceptart.org/forums/showthread.php?t=26748), and here (http://www.conceptart.org/forums/showthread.php?t=72362) and I'd say get some books by Andrew Loomis and George Bridgman to even out the anatomy issues!

Watch out with your heads, too. They're a bit on the big side!

happy birthday. and i agree with fighting seraph; you have potential. my advice would be to just keep studying anatomy and pull back on the shading a little. it's hard to understand the shape when there's so much cross hatching.

thanks for your critique!

Here is some more work. I didn't found the time to scan in the last days.
The two guys are my first brush pen trials, done with a reference. I did some posemaniacs 90 sec drawings with a brush pen too. Here are some of them.
The two girls are ink over a presketch after a reference from posemaniacs and a comic.
Today I did some head studies after Bammes and some Guys with a brush pen over graphit as pre sketch. The left one is done without a reference and the righ one from posemaniacs

@Cohen: I have not read your comment so far, so I did this crosshatching again. I will try to use less crosshatching then.

@IanE I have Bridgman at home, but I think he's a bit hard for me. His drawings are done with less lines and much anatomic details. While studying his drawings I have the feeling that I'm overstrained. However I'll keep an eye on Mr. Mentler, Bammes and some other stuff I already have at home.

Hey sweet stuff. Do not underestimate the power of drawing from life. Haven't really read what you've written but life drawing-classes are always good. Seems like oyu are going in the right direction though. Just keep drawing and you will get better. Yeey.

Looking pretty good, just watch your proportions.

ah I have already had a few lifedrawing lessons. (about 6-7) It helped me a lot to create more convincing figures. Before this lifedrawing experiences my figures had no relationship to the ground. I'll scan some of them by the time.
So here are drawings from 3 lifedrawing lessons.

first 3 drawings: 4 minutes warming up

last 4: each 5 minutes for the composition and again 5 or 10 minutes to finish them. Done on A2 with charcoal and graphit 2B

ps: do I have to warn people from possible nudity?

and the next sessions.

About my mistakes: The arms and legs get usually too fat and I have still some problems with proportions. The other thing is: There is in general this problem that many people let other people in pictures look like they themselves. I guess I did this too. So I give you a small picture of myself to get a more critical look on her proportions.
The first ones are done with Graphit in 15 Minutes and the other ones with ink and 2B pencil and with an aquarell graphit pencil and watercolors in 20 minutes.

Some other studies. Something is wrong with the arms of the first girl, I change this later sometime. The last two drawings are made with Bridgman as a reference. I have prepared the paper with graphite because I thought that I would perhaps concentrate more on the masses if the contrast is not so big.
