Editing now that the awful meds have worn off. Anyway, Your expressions are great...the Thor costume one is priceless. I have noticed whenever you draw someones foot in profile you tend to flatten it out. That's my only crit. :)

Just a sketch of a face... I was going for androgynous... I think it looks more female, but my boyfriend thinks it looks more male... soooo, I'm not sure if I succeeded or not lol.

Nice SB! Your character design and coloring skills are very well established. It seems your figures are too..but I see so few of them! I would love to see more.

Also, I notice you use angular faces and rounded faces on different characters..It brings out totally different feelings for the characters..I like that!

I think you did a decent job with the face in post 5. I can actually see both genders. I think the thing that tips it slightly more toward female is the lips. While men can have shapely lips like that, they are normally surrounded by more masculine features so it's less noticable. In the neutrality you've captured the lips stand out more.

Great J.C. sketches. It looks like you successfully ignored the inner perfectionist and were able to just sketch...and the sketches look gorgeous and free because of it. Hope to see lots more like them!

A tue mae - Thanks! I really do need to find more time to draw.

Nadesican - Thanks! I'm trying to play around a bit with faces because I realized I basically only draw the same types of features on everyone and I need to work on it. It's funny you mention figures, because I'm actually going to be working on figures more in the future.

Hadesdream - Thanks for the tip about the lips, I definitely see what you're saying. And yeah, I had a lot of fun drawing JoCo-I'm glad that came through.

Anyway, here's something new... I just started taking a figure painting class with Hadesdream (check hers out here) (http://www.conceptart.org/forums/showpost.php?p=1929449&postcount=34). We're using oils, which I've never actually used before, so I'm excited about trying something new. I've seen it here a million times that everyone suggests going back to basics and putting down the tablet, so I'm going for it.

This was 1 session of the class (2 hours) and we'll be working on it for another 2 sessions.

I think this is a wonderful beginning, especially for being new to oils. I'm jealous of your leg proportions as mine are a horrid mess. But I think the best part is how you captured the pose. You got this dignified poised look from her. It makes her look light, yet still weighted in reality. The color is pretty, especially in/around the highlights. You'll definitely be able to bring it up to what you'd like in the next two classes. :)
