yeah nicely rendered, but I'm afraid I can't understand what is going on below his head.. I don't recognize what is what..

Looks pretty cool. Couple little things that might help it read better.

It seems like the blue light that is on his right side would effect some of the machinery around him, which would also be a nice way to keep the eye on the focal point (a necessity in such a complicated, detail laden painting). Also, his head doesn't appear to be casting a shadow on anything, despite the saw blade (which is closer) having a fairly large cast shadow. It looks like his elbow and part of the arm are going over the chain, yet it is still bathed in full highlight. Seems like it should be more concealed by shadow, not to mention effected by the blue light trailing in along the edge of the 'bots head.

Very cool painting, though, and the robots head is really pretty genius in regards to design.

Great piece, lovely painted.
The only thing I don't really like is the chain in the foreground, it adds depth to the image, but at the same time it cuts the image in half making it read a bit weird.

This is really awesome, I personally like the foreground, yes it's confusing at first but with a robot image with small details and alot of mental "figuring" it leaves more to discover. With the intricacies of detailed mechanics it's often nice to comb your eye over the whole piece and find small things (which is why I can stare at a skeleton watch for longer than I should and not remember the time).

Gret job Nico - those extra little adjustments you made to the torture devices have worked beautifully.

that's a badass robot.
Original design, and beautiful rendering of the face. I'm not a huge fan of blurred effects, they just don't sell any piece well.
that aside, this is an awesome piece

Thanks to you guys for your comments ! ;) I've added some close-ups below.

zweiDee> Thanks !

banhatin> Thanks, below you can find some close up ;)

simoncheng> Thanks !

DARYL> Thanks, yes you're not the only person who tell me that the image is not fully understandable, it seems that it is not clear what the robot really looks like, i will see if i can fix that or not.

MoonVisionStudio> Thanks !

sourgasm> Thanks for your constructive comment ! You're right about the shadows of the robot's head and the shadow, you're the ony one who have noticed that ;) I will try to make these 2 shadows look the same. Also, i agree that there are some incoherences about lighting.

rlederer> Thanks !

rubbadub> Thanks, i understand your point of view about the chain, i thought it would add some depth to the scene.

skvv> Thanks !

illustratorwayne> thanks !

Chris Bennett>> thanks ! Hey that must be your third comment about my image ! Happy you like it ;)

Radio24> Thanks ! Happy you like the robot's design, i'm not a huge fan of blurred effects either, but i thought it would add some depth to the image.
