Does drawing all that stuff out of bridgman help? I used to do that like a year ago and i didnt feel like i was getting much understanding from it. I ended up just knowing what the names of the muscles were, but i still couldnt rotate them into different positions at all. Especially that supinator on the arm. Any tips?

Great stuff otto! I really like the "rendered" stuff... hehe. Seriously, really cool to see put in that time with those books, it'll make all the difference in the world. Really good work. Keep it up.

winjer: bridgman's book explains anatomy and simplifies it into forms of masses. this simplified approach is meant to help when drawing the figuer in different positions and prespectives, its like a tool to construct the masses in your mind while drawing. understanding the anatomy is essential if u wonna know what u'r doing. copying what's in the book a dozen times may only burn those same lines in ur mind but could show of little help when it's a new position u'r trying to draw that wasnt in the book. you should really take the time to learn it, consult it, and the draw arms by yourself with what u've learned.

thanx for the comments.... that ribcage was done by fredflickstone... it is the most badass thing in my book right now. Bridgman studies are great to do especially when i am drawing from life weekly and can apply what i have learned to the model.

i bought the smaller books. they are easier to carry around with you so you dont have to carry the bulky book around.
