Hi I'd like to make just three questions to you, what is conceptual art? Its a segment of the art, a style, in wich situations the Concept art need to be envolved?:)

this is a hard question that often has been asked and never really has been answered with a hard-as-rock type of answer.

anyway, my take is something like this:

onceptual art is all about depicting the concept of *something*, be it vehicle, creature, character, emotions, locations, lights, mood etc...

the artist isn't bound to any known style as impressionism, naturalism, symbolism etc... to achieve his/her goal. technical style doesn't matter as long as the primary goal -depicting concept- can be reached.
there are people that are able to catch their ideas best in markers and inks while others throw together a small, almost impressionist speed painting.

of course, different technical styles suit different aspects better, so i guess it's good to be able to pull of different things well:
why paint a building with mood etc... when everything that matters is the physical, constructive side of it?

i guess there are as much interpretations of the term "concept art" as there are people concerning about it.

concept can be putting ideas down on paper.
ie, your thoughts and ideas.

sid mead a good concept artist doing futuristic sketchs of products.

frank frazzetta another good artist drawing figures of vikings out of his imagination.

technique to me is more of what mode im in ie watercolor verses oils.

art directors are concept artist. idea men.

another good way is to think of enviroment that the product is in then put the product in the enviroment then the figueres in.
