Yeah, today I just drew, not much thinking involved here, just fun. My character is just a scarecrow swordsman... oh, and I'll try to give it some color later tonight.
Beatnik - nice concept, man - that's too funny.

Experimented a little with colour.
It scared more than crows (http://www.freewebs.com/drawings1/DSG248sc.JPG)
Silent brain: I like the mood in your pic.
scumworks: I like it, You might wanna do something about the crow. It looks like itīs hanging in the air, instead of sitting on his shoulder.
Velo: A particulary non scary scarecrow. It cheered me up :)

7 for 7! Did this one totally digitally (no paper) and did it in about 40 mins. I am trying to develop my painting skills- I paint too much like i draw, and I need to change that- so I am working on it! I wouldnt have given him a pumpkin head, but being Halloween it seemed suitable. Happy Halloween everyone.
BTW Odd- beautiful piece, I want to be able to paint as skillfully as you someday. Great job.

Hiya!! I've been working on this for a while and I'ld like to do some more, but I don't have any more time right now...maybe later. I have been totally breaking the time rules, but I've been having fun so I keep working. Oh and thanks for all the comments yesterday! Everyone has been doing so great. Its fun to see everyone improve!

paper slayer : Thanks, and your quite right, I looks as if the birds glued to his head rather than his shoulder. Fixed it, and added some details.

Gouda, I really like the quality in these and especially the fact that it's so clear despite having not much value range. :)
Beatnik, lol! I like the hay flying out of him. Best part. :)
Ayato, today's model is.. the michelin man? :p I know it was fast, looks pretty good but I woulda included some hay texture right off.
oDD - damn! I dunno if he would scare the birds but he surely scares me. Very nice!
MrK - your poses are always very dynamic. Nice one.
Ddesign - the red glowing eyes really bring the evil together.
It + End, it will. Drawing/painting every day you can't help but improve. Keep at it, and don't be afraid to use photo references.
Scumworks, welcome to DSG. Looks really clean and nice. The bird looks better like this but I think it could still use some legs. :)
Silentbrain, welcome to you too. The mood is really nice. I like the cap on the signs to protect them. Hope you participate often!
Paperslayer - freaky and evil! I like the mech parts. Honestly, making a scary scarecrow didn't even occur to me. :p
MadGiraffe - Looks good. I like the pose and the tattered cape. Are you shading with dodge and burn? It could be even more dynamic if you shaded with shades of slightly different colors - ie blue with yellow light and blue/green shadow, even some red reflected light. :)
NBT - cute! Real cute. And er odd.. I don't get it? How's the car driving!
Ilustre - very evil! I really like the pumpkin mask and the eyes below it are great! I think alot of people associate jack-o-lanterns and scarecrows in the same catagory.
DV8, beautiful as always. The lighting is really nice. He definately looks like he's somewhere without actually any environment at all.
3-ton - it's a very cool sketch.. but I don't see the relation to this topic?
Rockhead, beautiful again! I'm so glad to hear you're taking more than an hour and a half on these. I don't feel so slooooow now, lol. I spent a little over an hour today.
Daniel68 - nice monotone. He's freaky with those hands! I think you could have suggested the ground and placed him better with just a big dark horizontal swash or two under his feet. But the kind of eerie montage looks is cool, too. :)
Jeano, cool er... tentacles! Some freaky alien posing as a scarecrow/jackolantern.
Wednesday, your scarecrow seems so benevolent and happy. :) You should try switching your brush size alot -ie big for the sky. And shading! :)
Hunger_Artist - cool. I was wondering if anyone would do that scarecrow. It's been so long since I read Wizard, I forgot there was a big winged bear... or did you make that part up?
Fresh, your scarecrow is fine. It's good to be harsh on yourself about improving but no need to use such superfluous negative adjectives. ;)
Whew! There. Comments for all. :fruit:

well, it had to be an "adventuring" scarecrow, so i spent 1 minute adding some stupid background.
i couldnt think of anywhere else to put him

oDD- its great that you are modest- that just means you will get better and better! Its a common problem I see with artists- they think they are great and need no improvement, so they dont get any better. Its the artists that dont think they are that good that really get somewhere in the end (cause they never stop trying to do better work)! good job!

i agree 100%. I learn new things all the time but it takes lots of practice to put that ideas into action. there is always a gap betwean what i want to do and what i can do.The good thing is with time i'm aware of more things and stuff that used to be hard or impossible to achive, comes easier now.
