first off, I'm a complete newb to life drawings, This I drew from imagination as a female study.. I kind of liked how she came out.

There are a few things I already know about it:
1. The head is only there for reference, I was aiming at the chest and stomach areas.
2. The shadows under her hand is because I messed up a bit and didnt have an eraser handy, did the mistake of trying to cover it up.
3. The nipple is missing. I did that on purpose.

Thank you, comments are more than welcome :)

for someone who is new to figure drawing, and not drawing from a model or picture, then i think you did a pretty good job.

1. i know you weren't focusing on the head, but while you're practicing the rest of the figure, go ahead and work on everything. it can't hurt ;)

2. unless she works out alot, thin her upper arms where they meet the shoulder

3. the biggest error is where her shoulders meet her neck. the way you've drawn it is how it would look more for a man. although leaning your head that much to the side will increase the slope from the neck to shoulder, it shouldn't be this much. bring it down a little, and it'll look more like a woman's figure.

otherwise you did a fine job. but for starting out, always draw from a model or photo, so you can be sure you're getting everything right.

I agree that you should use reference.

Judging from the boobs it kinda looks as if she is wearing a shirt.
But if you actually drew that without reference it won't take long until you can construct the figure.

Still ... use reference for learning purposes to build a kind of library to draw from.

I think this shows pretty well how you can practice.

If you don't have any fancy tools you can always use greyscale images and make pencil sketches. Using photos to learn how to draw is not cheating (as long as you learn).
