This is my first time at professional portfolio and i have most of it complete. Solid. The only thing that i never really wrote is the cover letter. i guess Its supposed to have a description on why i am the best man for the job im applying for.
I just need a little glance at what one might look like. I mean i really dont know what to write...but if there is anyone out there that wont mind showing me what one might look like then it'll be a big help. Thanks

Hi! I am an agent for a few artists, and I couldn't help but notice your question. This always seems to be one of the toughest angles of getting a job. Honestly, a good cover letter is highly dependent on not only you, as the artist, but on the reader as well. Personality tends to dictate in all of us our preferences. Likewise to an employer.
I would suggest the following;
Introduction: If there is no contact name, always address the letter "Dear Hiring Manager". I have found that this is respectful, yet more personal than "To Whom It May Concern".
First paragraph: I think that a strong introduction of yourself, your art, and your interest in the position being applied for are in order. Think of it as a conversation with a girl/guy you want to ask out, but haven't met. You don't walk up and blurt out "I want to go out with you." You introduce yourself, explain a little about yourself, and then mention the job.
Body: Characterise yourself. (Think of the date scenerio again.) You are the best for the job because you have some kind of commonality, attraction, or abilty to impress. Do not restate your job history, but mention your qualifications. Explain your strengths as short comings.For example: "I am very self- motivated, almost to a fault." These types of references impress the hiring party while keeping a bragging tone out of the over-all statement of the letter.
Closing Paragraph: Be precise, but not too short. I usually employ three simple sentences such as: "In closing, I would like to restate my interest in your position, and ask for a brief intereview. If you feel that my qualifications are those for which you are seeking, please contact the following: (your info). I look forward to speaking with you in the near future!"
And of course, Best regards, Sincerely, Thank you, are all wonderful closings to a letter of interest/ cover letter.
I hope this is not redundant to anything you have already heard. Hopefully it helps you establish a great letter and GET THOSE JOBS!!!
Best of luck~
