what?

braces are things that help straighten teeth. Design early(medievil) concepts of systems/machines that helped straighten teeth.

Probably one of the harder designs the dsg has asked for, but i'm sure it could be done with creativity.

Oops, I had started working on this before the extra explaination was posted. Hmmm, I took it as a kid getting braces. Maybe I will do another tonight within a midieval context.

45mins.

Back in the old days, braces were meant mostly for rabid individuals...

Dosadi, that's just frickin' priceless. I love it. Is that bird crap on top of the guy's head?

So far some really great pieces.

ZenGonzo- Very clever piece and funny too!

Dosadi - hilarious, original and satirical, great job.

Rockhead - unbelievable. Although this one is designed to be funny, I couldn't muster a single laugh. I was so taken back by the amazing execution of it all, I was simply dazed. Superb!

Great work everyone.

not the most interesting topic, but cool anyways. Didnt have alot of time or energy for this one (btw hope you feel better soon Velo). Have decided to do these dsgs in painter now for several reasons- mainly to get more skilled in painter, and to make myself work more quickly and to build my confidence in "quick" work with colour. this makes 6 for 6 woohoo! Early theeth braces for a fat kid (wired shut so he cant eat!)

Alright, I've been pretty busy with work and all, but I managed to squeeze in this sketch. It's all I had time for today... sigh.

Also, I wasn't able to finish the Paladin on time, but he still came out cool, so please :D check out my paladin (http://www.kaynecomix.com/dsg/244.jpg) for yesterday's dsg.

I sorta tossed aside any obvious Medieval pretense. It was all I could do to get myself to do the braces thing. Took me a full hour-and-a-half, this did. Just didn't have a vision or even a technique in mind.

I'm happy that it's sufficiently gruesome, though. Tee hee.:D

Dosadi - Very funny!

Rockhead - That's just fantastic! BRAVO!

Velo - :( Hope you have some tea w/ honey and feel better soon.

Back in the Stone Age, they just had to go with what was available.

Crap, graffiti.net blacklisted my account, I figure for hotlinking. All the old links are now broken, bastards! :bash: Please suggest a good host if you know one. Thanks!

William b, that's both sublime and ridiculously painful. You are no relation to Marquis de Sade, are you? Amazing job.

Rockhead, that image is fantastic. For some reason it screams "album cover".

Good work mate! :)

Dave, who will actually be posting art soon!

danielh68 - Thanks for liking! No relation, though.

... Well ... then again, my family name can only be traced back so far. So, who knows.

hey thanks for the comments everyone! This was a very bizarre topic and I think everyone did great. It was kinda fun to have to think of something so weird. This dsg forum has been a lot of fun to participate in. -Rocky
