Wow. Really ambitious pieces here. Nice start to a sketchbook. I'll be keeping my eye on you. Can't wait to see more.

The Quadro piece is looking cool. I'm going to wait to see where it goes before I offer up any crits.

Hi there!

What I think is, it's a bit much. Each character/creature has a full arsenal, plus more. It's cool when you can make characters that make full use of just a little. The more you add, the less agility a character has. Try to stick to characters that use 3 weapons at most. Think about the design of the weapons, their function, and all the different techniques the character uses for each weapon.

Simple is often best. Good luck! :lineart:

Thanks maxchallie, I will try to keep the weapons to a minimal in my next piece. So far its very simple the character is a spy that's equipped with only a sniper rifle.

As for the Quadro piece its my first photoshop piece so I really don't know what else to do with it I'm stuck crazy3d man.

impressive rendering in the pencil drawings and a lot of imagination... whoa.
there are some very busy scenes, sometimes too busy for my taste, sometimes I can't read what's going on.
the dragon heads are lovely, I like their design (I'm not sure about the whole body though) and rendering, but the composition of that very pic could be better... I'm bad with composition, but I can see it don't make an impact it should. the human figure is behind everything, the dragon heads are paralell, they don't looking at the figure and lead us out of the picture...
there are others I can't crit, good composition, render, great details... like some skilled illustration from a sci-fi book.

Thanks for the crits and comments shiNIN. I'm a detail freak. I have a lot of new work thats not as busy as these particular pieces i'll post them soon.

PS I did all of the pencil pieces on this page four years ago :)

I wish I could do all these stuff . I really do. But I guess you spent years perfecting your technique .

^ lol. It has some way to go. The rendering is all very nice, yes. But rendering is a largely unimportant part of art. What is important is fundamental knowledge; anatomy, composition, colour theory, etc. You can start to focus only on perfecting rendering later.

Max Challie can you give me some advice on what to do on the spy piece? I don't have any idea what I should do for a background. Any other crits or comments are also appreciated :)

Impressive pencils! I really like the angle of the second one. I also like the amount of detail you´ve put in to them. Would be fun to see some more recent pencils. Keep at it!

Wow -- those pencil drawings are impressive. The one thing that I think is really lacking is that, for all the shading you're doing, you're not really defining the form in terms of light side/dark side. Look at any object in direct light, and you'll see that it's pretty clearly separated between the side that's in the light, and the side that's in shadow. It's not a smooth transition. A simple rule is that nothing on the light side can be darker than anything on the shadow side, and vice versa. Check out Andrew Loomis (http://acid.noobgrinder.com/Loomis)' "Creative Illustration" for more about that subject.
