Rule #7492: Never label riot geared police with OMOH, god forbid they walk by mirrors or water... poor guys must get mocked by the other departments like crazy.

Strong work in here otherwise.

you're the "art director" eh?
sooo... which of these pieces did YOU actually paint/design?
what elements did you create?
i just want to be clear... i mean, before i give any praise, i'd like to know who im praising. if this is work from the TEAM, i would feel more comfortable if the individuals names were on the pieces they worked on.

ahaah, i saw that coming and therefore needs clarifications.
It's actually OMON, the N in cirillic characters looks like an H, but it is the official suite of the riot squad ( correspoding to the SWAT team) in russia, and as the client was from Russia... mystery solved. here's the proof eheh, btu thatnk you all for the kind words, if you woudl like to see more please do check out our official website at www.saizenmedia.com, there's tons of more stuff in there.

Ok so i will clarify on this point, I am the lead art director as well as illustrator, and worked on every single one of the pieces you are seeing, however every piece we do is the result of team effort therefore we use the Saizen Media branding logo to all be equally credited, as there is not a single piece that has been created by one person alone, and reason why i registered this account under the alias of Saizen Media and not my personal one. This applies for the full websites as well and really anythign we do. Hope that explains.

cool.
great work guys. you've got some kick ass stuff.
those round bales of hay on the 8th one down are TINY

i only said something because i've killed myself on a project once, did all the work, met my deadline and was proud of what i did... my art director took the credit for the entire thing. what pissed me off was that i art directed myself. he even got to put his name in the credits of the piece, not me.
sooo, yeah, thats why i asked.
in my industry (motion graphics) some people build entire reels of shit they only kind of worked on so that they can get a job. for example, they animated the sky in the piece only, and put the entire finished spot on their reel, or they keyed the footage only and put the entire finished spot on their reel... same difference as what the art director did to me, just different level in the company.
my current art director is right there with me in the trenches designing and animating, staying til 3 am to get a project out. most art directors i have known in the past just point and say "thats cool" then take credit for it.
thankyou for clarifying.

I completely agree with you, been there myself, our field is exactly the same, any field is really, main reason why i started my own studio and we are doing things the other way around. Every project is something we all take pride in and exactly for this reason we announce it as a SAIZEN MEDIA project. Everyone puts effort in it and in the end it is somethign we all equally worked for and concieved. We all contribute to the name of the brand we created and grow with it on a daily basis, so eachone of us identifies him/herself with it. Its more like a collective entity for art's own sake, rather than ridiculously pointing the finger and sayin "i did that!" I myself do design, animation, lighting, directing, programming, 3d, audio, vfx, it depends on the project, but when someone has a good input it just gets laid on the table and thrown in the mix, and if someone is better at something than that person is obviously the most appropriate individual for doing that specific task, effect, character or whatever... in the end quality is what matters, and even though i lead the team i am always open to all sorts of inputs. Bring a director means i can see things from all angles, as i am an illustrator and character designer as well as computer science engineer, animator and music composer, but i do recognize my limits ... this approach has enabled us, thanks to a team of dedicated people to get the type of clients and type of projects we have been managing in a very short amount of time, but its that mutually inspiring atmosphere that keeps us moving and feeling involved personally.
Thanks for sharing and hope it helped clarifying. Tahx for the kind words in regards to the projects!

Sexy sexy stuff. Its got a nice clean, crisp vibe. I think the highest quality piece is the church. Parts of it looks very photo realistic. My favorite pic is police vs demon pic. Nice stuff.

The dragon's head reminds me of a Todd Lockwood dragon, although it's not quite the same. His dragons are very distinctive. I love the way the light is done in the one with the church. All of these are fantastic! Great work.

Hallo Davide,

Lot of work behind each piece, all of them are very neat and clear. Only thing that bothers me is the color choice in many pieces, the first one most of all.

Where is your agency based in italy?

Amazing, I see why the pieces are a team effort. You'd be a pretty lonely person sitting down and mastering one of these works yourself.

Color is a matter of style and personal preference, plus a lot of times we ahve to deal with the client's input on color schemes for the titles and official colors.
We are based in Milan in Itlay, Yekaterinsburg in Russia.

you mean you don't follow any rule but your taste and the clent's needs for your color choice? ....Damn, I wonder why I'm wasting all that time studying use of colors from all the amazing artist round here... :[:P

what i mean is that depending on the style of the game or project you work on you need to adopt a specific approach, some will require a more natural photorealistic feel, others a more comic book style and therefore high contrast and overly saturated bright colors... you will get that a lot with fantasy titles and companies who have a set pattern instylistic choices.
And i also mean that when you have a stubborn client who says "it needs to have blue and orange because those are the official colors of the game franchise" you simply need to make the best out of it. There's clients and clients, some will give you full control, others will give you limitations, just need to learn how to work around those limitations.

On a sidenote: awesome works in your portfolio, truly inspiring.

Ok, that makes completely sense and I can tell you I know what it means, I've been working as well with someone who was artistically narrow minded...

Thanks for your nice compliments on my art, though I feel I still have tons of things to learn. Glad to know you're established in Milan, I'm also here and mainly work in comics industry, I draw the sci-fi comic book Nathan Never. What did you do before starting with your agency :)?

All that being said, it would still be nice to see the names of the other guys on the team. I have seen the one with the elephants and the floating gondolas posted here before by another artist.
