Hello there, currently new to the forum and also to life of drawing, since I always suck at it.

So I have decided, I want to learn, so I'm asking for help on how should I begin.

I already have some experience in photoshop but not mad skillz like some, I just get around.

I want to try new things, since I have already lurked for a bit in the forum, I have found some interesting e-books that I plan to read (thanks for that post:asslick: )

I want to try more of digital painting, but if before I learn that I have to go to other sources then so be it, I want to be able to draw(and paint) things for myself.

Hey - welcome to the forums. Hope you're serious about the learning :)

Step 1: The Beginner's Guide (http://www.conceptart.org/forums/showthread.php?t=90377) to the forums.

Step 2: Draw. On paper first. Get your skill level up before you start hitting photoshop or painter, otherwise you'll have a lot of unlearning to do before you make any real progress. You can always scan your sketch into the computer and play with it there, but train your hand and eye traditionally before hitting the computer. I know there are others that will disagree with me, but I'm right. :geekg:

Step 3: Start a Sketchbook Thread (http://www.conceptart.org/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=41) and listen to the crits you get. Don't freak if no one posts any comments for the first few posts - people generally don't until they get to know you.

Step 4: Post comments and crits in other peoples' sketchbooks - try to stay away from the "cool," "awesome!" or whatever posts. Be polite or you will be ejected from the forum (not a threat, just the way it is).

Step 5: Repeat steps 3 & 4.

For general practice, either daily or weekly, visit the Activities forum (http://www.conceptart.org/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=83), and join the fray.

All the best,
~Oreg.

Thanks for support, I will start with some basic sketches and scanning them to photoshop to color, hopefully they won't look too bad :donk:
