Hi, I just joined the forums and thought this would be the best place to introduce myself with a couple images, and to say hello.
These are a mix of cover, interior and unpublished pieces. I am really interested in line, and working in a flatter treatment. I love the work of artists such as Dulac, Tenngren, Kaye Nielson, Rakham, Herge, Wendling, as well as Japanese wood block prints, art deco and Art Nouveau.

I am excited to start taking part in the forums. The talent on here is amazing. Its my first post here, so I hope I have done this correctly!

Welcome to CA!

You've got some beautiful work here.

I really enjoy the last two, although I don't understand the white panel on the 3rd one, is it suppose to be a part of the picture or is it like a text panel?

Hope to see more work.

We are lucky to have you. I'm really enjoying the colours in the first two pieces a lot. If you're down with Japanese and woodblocks, check out Audrey Kawasaki's stuff, you'll fall in love. And yes, you did post correctly! Have fun browsing and updating and if you really feel like it, start a sketchbook with the rest of us!

Welcome :]

Thank you for the warm welcome! Yes Id like to join the sketchbook forum, thanks for the invite. I am still navigating my way round here, lots to see.

btw, the white box, yes you are right that is a text box. That piece is an interior for a kids magazine.

Nice stuff. The 4th is definitely my favorite, with excellent composition, tones, sense of movement and story. Welcome!

nice work man;

especially the Girl & the cats;

reminded me of a German adult comic artist. He had the same style of drawing faces

You've got a great body of work. The fourth one is great, love the shapes. Your piece for king kong is beautiful, and I think the hatching adds a lot to it.
Ever heard of Josh Middleton, you might like him.

That last one reminds me a little of something I've seen in a recent spectrum, hmmm... Nice works man!!

Thank you everyone for saying hello. Its great to be in here.
Yes I do like Josh Middleton. I am a huge Claire Wendling fan and came to really enjoy Josh Middleton's work too. I think he is also a fan of Wendling (and perhaps even Dulac). I like the way he handles colour and uses a minimal clean line. While I adore Wendlings editing of figures and incredible design sense, I think Middleton's characters are more 'human'. Anyway, I could rattle on for ages about these artists. The fourth piece you are right I think that was in Spectrum 13 in the unpublished section.

Hey Craig,

Good to see you post here.
I've seen your work around for a while now.
Shannon Associates, right?

I really love your stuff.
I find it's graphic quality really pleasing, something I am constantly trying to do more of myself.

I KNOW you've got a ton more, and some of my favorites are yet to be posted.

So get to it.

POST.

Those are very beautiful. The coloring is well executed and the style is very unique. Very great.

Hi Dan, yes I have some more here. These are all older pieces: A cover for WOTC, Cover for Tom Swift series (Simon And Schuster), and a kids magazine cover (NSW Department Of Education And Training).

I better stop posting old stuff and get busy with new material!
