I want to learn painting..

Hi.
I think I should start to learn painting but I have no clue how to start. Can someone please give me an advice? Should I get a teacher or should I just learn by myself?
If you recommand I should get books about painting, please tell me the name of the book you'd reommand me.

Go to a library and check out every single book on painting they have. Make sure to include books on value and color as well. That'll get you started.

Oil painting can be a little overwhelming when buying supplies and setting up a workspace. You might want to start with watercolors instead.
