Importing Painter files in Photoshop?

Hi. I tried searching for this but I haven't come up with anything. Just a quick question: I am using Photoshop 7 and I can't seem to import .riff Painter files to it. Is it even possible? I know Painter can open up .psd, so I'm wondering if Photoshop does the same.

No, unfortunately Photoshop won't open .riff files. You will have to save them as a .psd first.
