This is really beautyful! I like the way you draw lines, it looks very freely. Couldnīt you say something about how you did the first picture in your thread? I like it best, but I can not really see if you worked digital or analog, or maybe both... Very interresting technique.

Yo man! Oooodlicne komadi! Nemam reci. Jednostavno ne mogu da prestanem da se divim. Kako si uspeo da razvijes ovakve skillove? Koliko godina imas, I koliko vezbas?

I enjoy following your sketchbook. Marvelous digital art skills.
While we are on the sneakers subject; I noticed something about them; that guy with a jet integrated in his back on the glass building has a perspective issue with his sneaker on his left foot. The same perspective issue again with a sneaker is happening again on the guy who is flying over or being hit by a taxi. His sneaker on his right foot has some perspective issue, it is not so significant, but you can notice it. I am not at the level to criticize but I hope that I pointed something out.Great work, anyway. Keep on posting, I am following.

Oh man, I heart your art! Love the perspective on the painting you did up there, a lot of people tend to avoid/hate exaggerated perspective these days :( Hahah nice master study, looks like he has had a stroke though due to the position of one eye in relation to the other (think peter from family guy when he had a stroke if you've seen that hahah) who knows it could be some reflection trickery from the glasses and it's old anyway. Keep going man this stuff rocks! :anime:

so are the floors on this building made in 3d or painted in photoshop. if the latter how do you keep all the lines straight and clean. this is my problem...
MatejaPetkovic
August 31st, 2009, 02:57 PM
Wilkerson nothing is 3d, i explained method how you can create perspective in 2d, when you finished with line tool(when you draw with line tool he automaticly create path) then go to path window, right click on it and choose option fill path with foreground color(make sure that you create new layer because once you fill path with foreground color he will do that on selected layer)
After that you just follow those lines or better select wanted area and create mask
Hope this helps, and if you didn't understand feel free to ask

Very cool composition on that last one. The only thing breaking it in my opinion is the far leg. Can't put my finger on why exactly though.
About the perspective setup: I already knew that trick. In fact you can even be more precise if u cross 2 guides where the vanishing point is, and snap the lines on the intersection.
I only thought that image was 3d, not because of the perspective but because of the clean rendering :)

hey, thanks! checking out your book too, cool stuff. those pieces with the hyper foreshortening are crazy :)
as far as nudes advice, the thing I'd say is to mind your brush size and strokes. Some areas look choppy where they could have more simplified and larger strokes. Try using the small detail strokes only where necessary in the final stages. Looking at the progression on page 3, there are some areas working better in the middle step than the last step. Also watch those harsh choppy edges. Think of simplified shape, elegant strokes, and gentle warm transitions ;) I like how you're playing with the color too!
Morgado
September 5th, 2009, 06:42 AM
From what I gather, you "switch style" completely when you are paintings the nudes. That might be dentrimental when it comes to their final look.
Why don't you try next time you have a nude to paint, to use your own style: the long perspective, palette knife strokes (I think), etc?... Just as if you were painting one of your illustrations. My 2 cents on the matter

Badass perspective in this one (http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc179/sqezavela/NikeMan-1.jpg) ... the guy with the wang (http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc179/sqezavela/fatso-1.jpg) made me lol.
GREAT portraits in the last few. Subscribing!

Hey man, thanks for stopping by my sketchbook! This last post looks great! How do you work the perspective on a person like that? Do you use photo reference?
Also, do you use photos for the old men? I have a surprisingly hard time finding a good photo. The portraits just have so much life. Do you manipulate the form or color at all?
Keep posting! This stuff ROCKS!

Sirkennet, most of time i use photo for my base, then i change it. For old man i also use photo, it was just practice so i didn't change anything. Thanks anyway
Strassenpenner, thanks man, glad you like it.

M, you're really giving it hard!
On that last pic, the guy who is refilling, looks a bit strange though, canīt point my finger on why though. Probably its the pose
