Hey everyone, I'm fairly new here, signed up about a week ago. I thought I would start a sketchbook to help improve my 2D work which has taken a back seat for a few years. I've done a bit here and there but for the most part it has been minimal and as a result has suffered a bit. So, hopefully this will push me to keep at it with some feedback improve throughout. My influences vary so my work will too, I will also try and keep constant with the updates, hoping to get something up every second day or so.
Thanks everyone

I love landscape work, traditional, digital, photographic, it's all good, so these were all done in fairly quick succession over the past couple of weeks, but need a few critical eyes over them to help me progress

Welcome to CA.
Really nice painings, I watched them through many times. Some minor issues with light direction (highlights, cast shadows and reflections), but since these are not supposed to be photorealistic, IŽd say really great work there. Actually these inspire me to throw away custom brushes for a while and practise my painting skills just with basic brushes.
Thanks, and keep it up.

The last two are my favourite. I guess i have a thing for rays of light shining through trees.

Thanks for the welcome Tmza and the few comments that you made, every little bit helps, and those are things that I will hope to become more aware of the further along I get. As for the customs I'm the opposite, will have to get into them more lol, but as for now the basics give me a chance to concentrate more on what you have mentioned and to not get too precious and try to pretty them up as much.

Hey Jeff and Elz, thanks for that, I thought I would try something different with the lighting and effects to see what I could come up with, they did turn out better than the others, so now will just have to try and progress from there.

Here are a couple of updates, the Alien head is new, but the other I did a while ago, thought I'd post it up anyway. I am working on a few others so should have them up shortly

A couple o quick images I did today, Louis is a play on Louis Cyphre (Lucifer, like the Robert De Niro character) and Potbelly is a play on beer gut and the potbelly stove, with a hint of the potbelly pig thrown in for good measure
