BIG Brother that is... Here's an excellent (slightly impassioned, but generally coherent) talk given by British journalist David Icke regarding Big Brother tendencies in Britain and every other country and why... interesting stuff!

P.S. It's kind of long... and yes I did watch the whole thing.

According to Icke, the reptilian group includes many prominent people and practically every world leader from Britain's late Queen Mother to George H.W. Bush, Hillary Clinton, Harold Wilson, and Tony Blair. These people are either themselves reptilian, or work for the reptiles as what Icke calls slave-like victims of multiple personality disorder: "The Rothschilds, Rockefellers, the British royal family, and the ruling political and economic families of the U.S. and the rest of the world come from these SAME bloodlines. It is not because of snobbery, it is to hold as best they can a genetic structure — the reptilian-mammalian DNA combination which allows them to 'shape-shift'.
...I think its safe to pass on this one

You know a lot of talk show host and radio personalities get into a fair amount of conjecture that is to their discredit. Alex Jones, David Icke, in that sense are really no worse than Glenn Beck or Neil Boortz. I personally wish they would avoid those kind of topics because it does discredit the position of a lot of factual information that they do try to convey.
(Lately Glenn Beck has been talking up the Fabian Society, anybody hear that?)
Bottom line -- have an open mind, be willing to call bullshit on the stuff that stinks, and don't believe these people -- Do you own research.

The Fabian society is a FACTUAL movement, not a conspiracy...so I don't know what you mean by saying that?

Hmm yeah you're right that is a bad comparison to the credibility of David Icke's "reptillian shape-shifters run the planet" hypothesis.
Still, people could take what Beck states about the Fabian society as just sheer "kookiness". Then the "kookiness" argument can be made, that no matter what this guy says, he's just crazy. That's what bothers me.

I;m not trying to defend Glenn, but I cannot see the Icke and Beck comparison at all.
Glenn Beck is strongly against socialism and communism, what is so crazy about that? Hence why he calls the fabian society cooky

I've heard Beck in the past couple weeks allege the Fabian Society as some how contributing to the ills of America. If you dig and do research then you may see he has a basis for his points. But in this time, raising this kind of history can be cause for ridicule as tin-foil hattery craziness. (no matter how factual)
I'm not saying he calls the Fabian society cooky, I'm saying that people could call him cooky for even raising the issue. (which he admits)

Ah, this might be a touchy subject. I realize that at first Icke's theories raise eyebrows, putting it lightly, but if people would be willing to dive a little deeper into his work, there are some convincing arguments. I've read loads by him, e.g. The Biggest Secret and it's certainly interesting.
But do I believe this? I'm not sure. There are so many outrageous theories roaming the interwebs, it's hard to know what to believe! Like Mike Frank pointed out, doing your own research is fundamental. I double-check. But then again, how can you know that the other source is any better than the other? How can you sort out deceptive big-brother propaganda 'truths' from the actual one? Well, that stuff could fill several threads :)
But thanks for linking the interview, it seems interesting, I'll check it out when I get home from work.
(This should be in the Lounge, no?)
