I've got 10 new 350 page 8x10 hardbound sketch books. I'd like to know from those who draw a lot. If you were only given 4 hours a day to draw, how long would it take you to complete just one of these books. I am a little intimidated by all of these empty books. My wife gave them to me as a gift to encourage me to draw more. She has a friend that works at half price books who gets a major discount. So she got these books dirt cheap. To really see improvement, how long should it take me to complete one of these books? I have at least 4 hours of free time a day..somtimes more. I'd really appreciate some feedback on this matter.

Stop being intimidated, stop worrying, and just draw. Don't set artificial timelines, schedules, or goals. You're wife is encouraging you to draw, but it looks like you're looking for excuses for why you weren't able to before the fact.

BTW, the stuff in your sketchbook thread looks good. Get to work filling up those books, it's only 3500 pages!

Don't concern yourself with any of that. If you want to consider intimidating sketchbook sizes, then consider how many sketchbooks an artist will buy in their life. Once they finish a book they don't just stop there, they buy another, then another, and one more, and then another beyond that one... it is unending.
It matters not how fast an artist works through a sketchbook, just that they work. Improvement will take care of itself.
