This is my first ever post on these forums, so be kind :P

Anyway, here's my clearly shrek-inspired ogre.

http://www.tom.burchill.btinternet.co.uk/creations/ogre.jpg

It took about 10 minutes in painter classic. I'm still getting used to all the stuff I can do with my wacom, so there's not much detail. Please let me know what you think.

You know what, I really wasn't happy with that, and tried again in photoshop. It took around ten minutes again. This one took a different route, and I'm much happier with the results.

Fine then, you ungrateful so and so. here's your ogre with the body. But bollucks to the tablet, this one's in pen and paper. Excuse the hands - by the time I was putting in some of the details they were already a black mess.

http://www.tom.burchill.btinternet.co.uk/creations/ogre3.jpg

And yes, I realise I have posted here 3 times in one day, but I need the practice.

Davi-Yeah...no can do..but it still looks great. Kinda develish. What happened to his right eye? Is it shut? (aweken, peering careful expression, it has, sort of....) It looks more like a stone gargoyle(just add wings)

Figuring out the pose I thought "If I was a big, offensive dumb dude, what would I do?" The answer was obvious - grab my package.

I had much trouble with this topic, since I wanted to do more research than I really had time with. Here it is anyway.

Davi, are you using painter or photoshop for your pics? I've always used photoshop...never had much call for painter and every time I try it I get lost trying to do what I can easily do in photoshop...any hints?

aww, man I can't believe I missed yesterdays... bigfoot rocks. ah well, anyway, here we go - oh, yeah, and my ogre is less the lazy-fat-ogre, but the rockin-warrior-crazystrong-ogre (that's why he has no beer belly).

Here's my quick attempt. I know, it's just a pretty normal guy colored green. I couldn't think of any non-cliche ogre features off the top of my head.

Wow some really cool ogres!

I like how his skirt says "hottie", Devilb, and I like the colors.

Harmony, the expression in your ogre's face is really cool. he's so very delighted to find the little morsel!

Daniel, I really like the little veins in his face. Nice touch.

Olsen, your ogre disconcerts me! He looks like Yoda.

Cleverfish, welcome! I hope you post often. I love your ogre - nice the details of the muscles and bones, and hair texture.

Mr. Kayne - like it, but the super bendy wrist bothers me much. I can see why it's like that for the pose, though.

Severian, He's pretty solid. I know how you feel about the features. I get the same block often.

DV8 awsome! I really love that face - and he isn't just wearing a loin cloth/thong. He definately looks like the evil overlord of something.

All the comment I have time for atm, great job everyone!

It seems to me that a lot of people mix up the two different races: Ogres and Orcs. I see a lot of Orc reference.
