Here's a model I did while ago. Would anyone know the best way to go about texturing? I am pretty much a newbie when it comes to that.

I was happy with everything except the ground, still looks to flat.

Hellz yes! I love that tank! great rendering too. As per the ground, well it seems like you could just put a bump map on it, and maybe make the texture a bit more detailed, so it doesn't start to pixelate as it gets up to the camera. Great stuff!

the best way for texturing: unwrap (loads of time) your model, create UV-maps and paint textures :) Then, of course, paint specular maps, bump-maps, diffuse maps, whatever.

I like your scene and the model, I had several looks at this thread, but never answered :D

For the ground - maybe displacement mapping will help.

Lovely little tank

The only thing i can think of that it could use was a little bit of beveled edge to make it a bit less 3d. But it is a great model.

Can it drive?

I love it. The color pallete in your second render has a decisively mgs feel.
Got anymore?
