Any takers on a Discussion of the.... "....madman who painted straw chairs and sunflowers, everything always yellow. He didn't like any other colours, until he got sunstroke and put a bullet through his brain...."

Van Gogh certainly did not only use yellow and he shot himself in the
stomach I believe.

I could be mistaken, but wasn't VanGogh a large proponent of the first color wheel?

Quite right Craig. Seth should read some of Van Gogh's letters to his Brother Theo - they are the product of a highly intellegent and well read individual with a heart of pure gold. It was only later that his mental illness kicked in and that was really in the form of a malady during which he had lucid and completely sane periods under the watchfull eye of Dr Gatchet and the staff of St Remy hostpital who allowed and encouraged him to paint. The letters at this stage are heartbreaking - making you realise that this was a human being we are talking about, sensitive, loving and lonely, yet brave like a lion.
