The stylized hands dont seem to fit with the other-wise realistic anatomy.

Weapon X? With these types of pencil/digital sketches it helps me personally to scan it in and then to tone the canvas a medium gray or neutral color and then start actually coloring the figure. This helps keep the colors and shading in check, and then you can always go back at the end and paint a white background around the figure. I don't know if that helps.

The yellow skin tone kinda bugs me. Maybe it was what you were going for, but I think something pinkier and more realistic would help it out.

thanx for the replies... i'll keep working on this and please keep the crits comin.:)

Pencil Soldier-->thanks for the comment on the anatomy, as the the hands i was trying to see if i could paint without lines dictating the flow.

Rockhead-->thanks for the tips, i'll try to keep that in mind and try out the technique. but this was totally done in ps7(i'm too lazy to plug the scanner in:D )

Tully-->thanks for the pointer. i was trying to do a george pratt style, guess i failed miserably, but i'll keep on working on it.

slick painting insomniac,

however i'd say that his skin is definatly too yellow, you should pop some reds blues, and hell even greens in there to give him a more fleshed out look. i'd definatly say on the next layer, just go at it with some colors and play with the opacity or something but i DO like the hands they definatly take just as much command of the piece as the head. even when they were over exaggerated i liked them, it gave them that sense of importance. are you gonna put the claws in?

looking good so far...

In photoshop, go to the "Image" menu, choose Adjust/Hue-saturation, and move hue to -25, and saturation to -40. Instant fleshtones!
