Fun to paint although unpretentious and unplanned. I almost made a background this time too :)

Hey, this looks pretty good. A lot like the megaman redux things, where they changed all the villains in to hot, sexy girls. My only problem with this, though is that it seems like you drew megaman, then just put a ponytail on. Making the body more feminine (aka breasts, larger hips) would help a lot.
Really nice job on this, you just got a new fan ;)

i'm with mos667. while there is little disputing the quality and technique of the image, it doesn't look that female. i can see you're emulating the style of the zero series, which can be more than a little ambiguous about character genders.
getting to the point, this looks to me like zero with x's helmet and a different ponytail. i can see yes, that the character is female, but i feel your image could be stronger if you push past the gender ambiguity of the zero style.
extrapolation: the two female central characters, ceil and fairy leviathan, are blatantly female in a game full of girly-looking guys. they stand out most (in my mind at least) because their eyes are very round and soft looking. you hit this pretty well, but it's hidden by the aggressive-looking helmet. in the case of leviathan, her helmet's lines are no less aggressive than those in your image, but cuts off at her eyebrow, making her eyes way more visible, and more easily distinguishable as female. both of these characters are of a somewhat diminutive build. avoiding any potentially sexist comments, your image still looks as though it's built like a male, at least as far as the zero games go.
blah. i still like it. keep up the good work.

I havn´t played much mega man so I don´t care about specific ingame similarities.
I agree with Lono. I like it, good job. :)
One nitpick, I keep wondering,
how she is going to bend her left arm more than 90 degrees with that armguard/braclet thing.

Malicious> That are some very keen observations. Megaman is full of androgyne characters. The last boss (MM Juno) in Megaman Legends being the most prominent example.
I'm currently trying to emulate both the MMZ design style and render style. This one is just a design emulation though.
I noticed that the anatomy in MMZ exaggerates the hips a lot and makes the torso really thin and short. The arms are more stick-like with little muscle features showing. I got a wierd habit of sometimes making my females muscular and chubby.
When doing the helmet I knew it would remove the female characteristics of the face, and chibi faces are quite androgyne so I knew ppl were gonna comment on it. I was prepared to sacrifice the top of the eyes to get the V shaped helmet though. But I guess I was concentrating to hard on getting the inner corner of the eye right and thus forgot about the roundness of female eyes.
I'm currently doing a lot of megaman designs, one based of each element or archetype I can think of. Since they all wear helmets and in some cases bulky armour they don't look particulary female, which I'm prepared to live with. I'm not gonna smack gigantic boobs and minimal bikinis mixed with random armour parts on them just to make them sexy. That's not the thing I'm going for. Since all the characters are female there hopefully won't be any confusion about the gender of the characters. I can do some 'off duty' pics without armour or helmet.
Also, there is nothing worse than heavy armour with boob shapes, like the medium armour in tribes. >_<
I have to think about the eyes though. Putting the mouth a bit lower will remove male looking jaws. Rosy cheeks and blue on the eyelids might work too, but not too much of it.
mos> Interesting. I'll just google for MM redux.
PaperSlayer> Well, don't you know that megaman/girl always runs with her arm stretched out? hahah. Good point though. I got sloppy with the joint design.

The mark here is quite appealing...like Jull eluded to....simplification is a skill! And you have executed it well!

Great piece.

I’m with Lono on this one + I like that she have anatomy of a little girl, she don’t need huge balloons.

I think that torso isn't masculine in any way. The curve and bulge of the tummy is purely feminine, and the hips are very female as well. the upper torso is a little small to be masculine, altho in mega man it could probably pass i suppose. but really, from chest armor down that is a purely female body. great job Prom, as always. :)

Am I the only one who sees boobs?
:D
Really cool, I like the stylized face. My only crit would be on the gun, I feel the dead on side view flattens it out.

Thanks peeps. I could prolly have done the face a tad more feminine but oh well... I got lazy with the gun as tedsuo pointed out.
I really wanna try a lineart version in RMZ style, but I doubt it would end up any good. I'm trying hard to realize that anatomy, correctness and minor details are secondary to pose and line harmony. Also, I need to learn to work more with geometrical, simple shapes.
I'll see what's next, tdome, BM or MM, or any of my other 12 gigazillion projects.
I think the topic should be MegaGirl:Weap... cuz it is a class/object method whatever... Ack I haven't done C++ in a while.

Don't worry about the girl. I think she's hot. A different kind of sexy from the boring parade of big spheroids. You wouldn't see any more revealing body shapes anyway because of the armour.

Prom, at last you've painted MegaGirl! If Capcom knew what was good for them, they would create a megaman game but it would be MegaGirl, all the characters would be sexy evil chicks like you've designed in your style. I'd buy that immediatly, great work dude! Now lets see her in action fighting MagnetGirl, or RingGirl, or an entirely new MegaGirl bad chick in one of Dr.Wily's cool mech battle rooms.
By the way, after reading some of the comments about the degree of how feminine your MegaGirl looks, I think she looks feminine. I didn't think she looked like a guy or unfeminine. You say you have a habit of making your female characters a little muscular and a tad chubby, I think thats cool. I think when it comes to designing chicks lot of people will forget that there is more than one way to design a cute and sexy chick. They don't always have to be the redundant super model types in swim suit mags with the same kind of body type and the same huge knockers. Those chicks are of course sexy but I think your mega chicks are great and sexy as well. Anyway, great work Prom.
