We have a forum for reference images, Should i move it some where so its more active?
It's currently under the Photography forum, but since the main forum of that has been relocated,
Where would you guys like to move it?

FINE ARTS, STUDIES, & DISCOVERY
The technical side to art. Get help with honing your skills.
I think that's fitting.

You forgot the one forum that it would be perfect in, FINE ARTS, STUDIES, & DISCOVERY. What do we do with reference? I usually STUDY it. What helps us paint a complex thing? Reference. What is Reference? A Discovery.
That's where I would be tempted to place the forum.
PS, never knew such a forum existed.

Hey davi,
I think it would probably most benefit being moved from obscurity to a forum of it's own in the General Forums section (easy to find, plus it's sort of cross disciplinary).

I agree with the pizza topping. As much as I hate too many forum sections, in this case it makes sense--BECAUSE--
We now have floating threads in various sections on What inspires us, art we like, comics reference, etc. These should all be together in one section to make it easier to do proper ref/research, and actually may inspire some new forms of references that we don't have now.
Call it ALL REFERENCE or something like that. It would also prevent a lot of chitchat being posted in those particular threads, making them easier to maintain.
ADD: As an after thought, why not put it together with tutorials, tips, and stuff like that--in a sep section as I mentioned above? It would give us ONE obvious section to go to, or to refer noobs to when simpler questions are asked in the lounge and art threads.

The first thing that came to my mind was also FINE ARTS, STUDIES, & DISCOVERY. Seems fitting, since photo refs are mostly used in studies and help sharpen the technical skills.

I also vote on Fine Arts, Studies, & Discovery. Just seems to be the logical place for it.

Similar to Ilaekae, I vote for a new, top level forum in the Education and Learning section. It could be called Reference and Inspiration, and combine the current reference sub-forum with the various inspiration threads (rough sketches, drapery, etc). Emily's How to Use Reference thread should be stickied right at the top.
While we're at it, Tutorials should probably get moved from being a Critique Center subforum into a top level forum in Education and Learning as well.

very good points, i think i'm going to agree with putting it into education and learning.
Like before, I hope its not ignored.
The forum is so big that it seems people are very narrow focused into each forums they select to pay attention to.
But, maybe if the education section was sculpted a little better it could thrive. Thanks for the input! Making the moves!

I agree with the education forum, though I also like the idea mentioned about putting all the reference threads together in a Reference section. :)

Please make sure we can find it wherever it goes. Comments in the various DEEP polls have recently caused me to want to try some stuff based out of the references (drawn in mah style, of course), and using Emily's "using reference images" info. I agree with Elwell about "tutorials out of Critique Center" as it seems a little bit counterintuitive for them to be in there.

I second everything Elwell said, because I'm a total fanboy, not because I support his oppinions or something lame like that ;)

Go ahead and start one, kitty.
I like the new place. I saw it right away, after having forgotten it for so long.

hey, the following threads should probably be moved from the lounge to the new reference thread, or possibly art discussion, or even the fine art studies discovery:

painterly figures http://www.conceptart.org/forums/showthread.php?t=129632
drapery http://www.conceptart.org/forums/showthread.php?t=129496
finished paintings http://www.conceptart.org/forums/showthread.php?t=127377
