I'm starting to look into schools again after completing a 2 year degree at a local school. I realize this isn't a good time to start looking for scholarships, since most schools had their deadlines months ago. What would be good advice at this point?

I would just be looking at fastweb.com scholarships, or peterson scholarships and organizing them by deadline. You'll find at least a couple that aren't too late to apply for. And look for ones with rolling deadlines. Most of these aren't very much money.
So yeah, it's a little late to apply for the "big bucks.." but I think most of the bigger scholarships come from the school you are actually applying to. However, most of their deadlines are back in February and March.
If it comes down to the wire, you could always apply for another term, though.

The problem with fastweb, which I signed up for yesterday, is that there are plenty of opportunities yet they all seem to be limited to only those who are currently enrolled in an institution. That makes it even more difficult. I suppose anything anyone can do now is research and plan.
