Hey guys
I am busy doing an elf woman. Used materials for now are hb,3b,4b,5b cause I don’t have any higher:D:D. I think that the face is too thin right know, even for an elf , so I’ll alter that.
I have made some more studies of the skull and muscles of the head and for know I made them way to noticeble, but I will alter that soon.
The body, which you guys don’t se completely has been turned a bit towards the viewer, the head remains in a side view. I would like some comments if I did the neck muscles right. I used reference, but had to improvise cause I only had reference of a twisted body, but it also had a twisted head, mine doesn’t :D:D
Thx in advance

Something about doing anything with elves, it just seems as if its been done so many times before. You seem to be doing pretty good on the anatomy, though the head seems a little large. But I think you should just take a paper towel or a tissue or something to smudge the pencil up a little more to make it more smooth (an elf's skin is so smooth ;)).
Also, something about the pose is just sort of bland. You really dont find many profile views in real life, although its good to practice them ;). It also seems like the elf is very stiff, and that its more of a statue than anything else. I guess that can't be helped now, something just to consider for the future.
Good luck on finishing it, I'll check in when you post some more stuff :)

Thx for the comments
I know about the face, it's a bit stiff, emotionless. Made that on purpose, wanted to apply more anatomical detail on this one.

Looking pretty good. One thing you might want to think about is modifying the jaw. I've always pictured an elf as having a delicate bone structure, but yours seems to have a pretty heavy mandible. It's mostly because of the distance between the lower lip and the bottom of the jaw, although the strong shading makes it look very round and heavy as well. The upper eyelid could use a bit more work too.
Keep it up.

The values are great, but her face looks off... Maybe it's uneven....? Something about it creeps me out

Hey, nice work. I think the face is a bit too flat, it needs to curve more like this --> ( <--. And though im no expert, the ear looks as if its positioned too much back. Keep it up :-)

Remember that with eyes you never see more than half if they are looking forward. All the info comes in through to pupil. The eye has no need to reveal more. Also, hair tends to look to be in clumps. Don't render it too strandy, the volume of the hair is far more important than he texture. Besides, the eye kinda blends the strands together anyway. It seems the eye should be more recessed, the nose more extruded and the The upper lip shouldn't appear so much smaller than the lower lip. It only looks that way from the front because it more harshly recesses.

make her nose and chin a little more prominent, right now they're a little too flat. her ear might need to be moved in a little, but not a whole lot.
