[ Like the machinery of the racing car getting the quick fixes, replacements, and so on... ]
[ ...That's what we have here, but it's robot(s) getting the treatment from battle damage, etc. ]

Etcheberri: I love all the texture in the image, and the light behind is really cool.
PlasmaErnst: Awesome sense of scale! I like the robot's design and the feel of the space.
Brett: I really like the creatures working on it; there's definite character there.
HFix: The robot really pops out; I the guys on and around it are great, as are the suggestions of the background.
TheBeast: That's almost melancholy; I like how he's hanging limply.
Haha, okay, first post. 1.5-2 hours, about.
Hopefully the image isn't too dark. My monitor is rather obscenely bright.
"EXCAlibot5900 always hated this part. When the technician got near his biting teeth with that drill of hers, his fuel cells felt like letting go."

I just started this and i get called back in to work for a night shift. Don't they know i have better things to be doing. I will finish it but when, i don't know.
i like everyones version this time around so no need to name the usual suspects.
Hamsta nice idea.

On another note. A foster cat after having a shite the size of herself jumped on my keybord and this is what i got. I presume it is a snapshot on a opacity layer. How do you do a snapshot of your screen with photoshop?

Hamsta: That doesn't follow the brief. I don't see robotic- looks like a guy, why emphasize anatomical facts on a robot design, gladiator- there aren't any weapons or armor, or pit-stop- all he's doing is drinking from a cup. Could be a claymation guy who just finished jogging. I could also imagine that he's a boxer in his corner, but there's not enough evidence to make that assumption.

Mitze There's a little too much going on. The focal point seems to be the circular shapes in the bg, the arena I guess, which isn't very important IMO.
The line art has some interesting shapes coming from it, but I don't think they are intentional, and might require more fine tuning.
I like the story about your cat :P and I suspect the print screen button was somehow involved.
armando I'm going to have to disagree. The idea that it IS a boxer has crossed your mind.
I'm glad I got your crit, though. Who knows, it might help me make a future project better.
prespage I had been think about Rock 'em Sock 'em robots while doing this piece, amongst other things. (I know, that was for armando)
Your robot reminds me of things I've seen before... Transformers and/or Front Mission probably.
Hmm... I like the bottom quarter of the pic, with the mechanics rushing, and the details on the robot, but the rest of the image is rather static and dull.

I know I'm late, I started this one, then had to leave town. I finished it though, hope you don't mind my tardiness.
Nathaneal West: Now that is true concept art. Amazing job, the colors work together beautifully.
Prepsage: Great detail on your piece. I reallly like the concept too.
Etcheberri: Nice look, the perspective is good, I also like the brushes you used for that industrial feel. However, the foreground has too sharp edges. It needs to be blended better to fit with the background. Overall, great job though.
Good work everyone.
