Hey everyone,
Another weekend, another comic book convention, another chalk drawing that..... wait a minute, make that EIGHT chalk drawings.
That's right people, eight portrait chalk images in one weekend. Due to unplanned circumstances (construction was going on where I was SUPPOSED to draw on pavement) I had to rush out, buy 32"x40" matte boards and use them to create my art instead. Fortunately, the planned piece was eight Greg Horn Marvel Comics Skrull portraits, so they worked as eight smaller pieces. I REALLY lucked out on the design we picked.
Below are a couple of images, other are at the photobucket album I have linked below. I average 25 hours of chalk drawing at a con, this time I figure there was between 42 and 45 hours total to get these pieces done! WHEW.
Let me know what ya think and I hope to see you at the next show.

Six of the eight finished sketches, at 3:30 AM in my hotel room.

Phoenix as a skrull. Greg Horn makes ridiculously good hair that is a pain in the ass to recreate, let alone in CHALK!

Storm. The lighting on the original art for this was amazing, I hope I did it even 50% justice.
You can find the other six drawings on my PHOTOBUCKET ALBUM (http://s49.photobucket.com/albums/f292/arteric/WW%20Chicago%2008/) Wolverine, Captain America, Spider Man, Iron Man, Elektra and Spider Woman. Enjoy!
