Hey all,
Just looking to do some plein air acrylic studies...does anyone have any specific recommendations for sketchbooks that can take some acrylic paint?
thanks!

I've used a watercolor block and been happy with it. No buckling, and you can go for the cheapo ones- you don't need the fancy paper for acrylics.

you can buy books of thick acrylic paper with a canvas-like texture, but yeah, most sketchbooks can handle acrylics as long as the paper isnt too thin

you can just slap it on, it might crinkle up the page, but it dosn't really matter cause its a sketch book. I use acrylic and water soluble colouring pencils in my cheap sketchbooks, and it does crinkle a bit. flatens out though, you can prime a whole page and let it dry if you want it to stay super flat. Those canvas textured pads are fun for quick studies and are pretty cheap.

i've primed my pages with a layer of gesso or white acrylic- keeps the water from soaking through and killing the page. :]
the pages i'm using are nothing fancy-- probably the equivalent of regular copy paper.
