to my knowledge ive only ever posted my work on here once before looking for advice on how to use photoshop.

ill get straight to the point, compared to the average level of skill on these boards im waaay out of my depth, but still i feel the critisism will do me good.

i also have an addiction to the biro pen, in college i was often arguing with my tutors about the use of the biro pen being a valid medium. my argument was if people can paint with their literal shit then surely the biro pen isnt so bad.

ive just finished my two year diploma course at college for art and design in which i specialised on fine art. on summer break, returning in september to do BA HONS illustration.

anyway at the end of the course we put up a final exhibition, and when i looked at my work on the opening night, i couldnt have felt shittier. so ive decided to follow natural history illustration, so enough talking, heres my work.

heres a WIP, felt that the colours were a little too dull and that they didnt really convey a sense of depth...

the final thing, i tried varying the colour pallette a little in an attempt bring out the tones some more and give it a 3D appearance, i know i failed in doing that but considering my skills i think with alot of practice i will be able to become literate with photoshop.

more digital colouring, unfortunately its ended up looking like a zombie bipedal christmas tree with the use of colour... besides that, the anatomy is no were near correct, but im still practicing.

I do really like your pen sketches... really imaginitive stuff! However, (at least for me) some of the delicacy and interest gets lost in a lot of the coloured versions. I recently found this tutorial (http://www.epilogue.net/cgi/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=13252) on how to imitate wet on wet watercolours in PS.... thought it may apply to you.

Overall - great stuff. Keep posting!

crickey nearly chocked when i realised some one had commmented on my sketchbook. and a good crit too, i often look at my pen drawings and feel a little disheartend to see most of the frame work dissapears beneath the digital paint.
