I am most worried indeed, it seems as though pieces aren't of the highest quality at all; in fact I'd say they are most low indeed. I am most worried because I fear as though I will not make a difference if things are being produced at this rate. It seems as though people are giving me advice , I follow and it's still not enough. I don't know I keep browsing and finding folks with good pieces. I need to keep up and I fear as though time is running out. It seems as though at school I am better than most people in the lower quarter; yet it seems as though those who are for 2D animation and pencil stuff are appraised, while those who do other things aren't. Also many upper quarter folks are telling me not to focus on grades and just improve. It also seems as though the administration wants us to be losers, but I need to do something important. One cannot "just get a job" that's not enough, that's essentially failure in a sense; if one doesn't try to rise to the top and aid humanity.I feel as though I am missing something still. Also for anatomy I do rough sketches of folks walking in the park and other such in terms of gestures; for some reason though it used to not transfer to the tablet well for some reason. Also people on the web are suggesting that I go to markers instead of the tablet, I really don't think I can do that...Markers are no good for me at all. Also is 3D studio max no good at all? I cannot seem to get it at all however Maya always seems to work well for some reason. Also looking things up, it seems as though I've never seen much of the highest quality on MAX

Stop worrying. Do practice. Practice for five years, and if you haven't improved by then, THEN you can worry :)

I don't know I keep browsing and finding folks with good pieces.

Great! Learn from them as much as you can! They're your mentors. :yum:

I need to keep up and I fear as though time is running out.

There ain't no time running out. Great artists come and go. It's not like there will be too many good artists at some point. The really good artists always make only a small percentage of the whole artist community. It's been like that for centuries. So why hurry?

yet it seems as though those who are for 2D animation and pencil stuff are appraised, while those who do other things aren't.

Seems like your art school teachers (?) have a taste for those things.
If you're getting really good at what you do (in your case 3D) you can make a living on it. Just make sure it's something you enjoy, and something you're willing to dedicate time and commitment to.

Also many upper quarter folks are telling me not to focus on grades and just improve.

They're right. Do what you love and get really good at it.

Also people on the web are suggesting that I go to markers instead of the tablet, I really don't think I can do that...Markers are no good for me at all.

Just tell 'em they're at the wrong address when they want to see marker art, and redirect them to artists who do awesome marker art.
Use whatever media you're comfortable with. It ain't about the media but about your art.

lso is 3D studio max no good at all? I cannot seem to get it at all however Maya always seems to work well for some reason.

What works best for you? use it.
